Tabia Charles - Track & Field | Canada
Olympian
A young athlete who has literally jumped her way into international sports headlines, Tabia Charles is one of the brightest international stars in the track and field world. A women's long jump finalist at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, her "personal best" in the long jump was an amazing 6.52 meters. She is also a dazzler in the triple jump, where she has several times leaped almost 14 meters. At age 18, Tabia accepted a full scholarship from the University of Miami where she not only starred on the track team, but also graduated from the university’s four-year undergraduate psychology program in three years, earning a place on the dean’s list as well. Returning to Toronto, she has now joined the professional ranks and is competing in North America, South America, the Caribbean and Asia. Tabia aspires to eventually start her own fashion line as well as to help others as a clinical psychologist.
