Shannon King - Track & Field | Canada

Shannon King

As a member of the Canadian National Track and Field Team since 2003 and currently a member of Antigua and Barbuda’s National Team since 2010, Shannon King believes in the value of being mentally strong and physically fit. His goal is to be a positive role model as well as a sports champion, and he hopes to rank among the finalists in the 100-meter dash at the 2011 World Championships and 2012 Olympic Games. His chances of attaining this goal are excellent, considering his personal best to date in this event has been 10.29 seconds outdoors. He is a frequent top competitor at major Canadian, U.S. and European track meets such as the 2009 Kayo Invitational, which he won by running his personal best, 6.64 seconds, in the 60-meter dash. He also came in fifth in the prestigious IAAF World Junior Championships in 2004 in Italy, where he ran the 100-meter dash in just 10.47 seconds.
