Not Your Typical Olympian. Ruben Gonzalez, author and keynote speaker says, "Over 20 years and thousands of luge runs, I'm still frightened before every race. Luge -- where you lie on a sled and slide down an icy course over 90 miles per hour -- is a very scary sport to watch, let alone do! I just won't let my fear stand in the way of competing." A native Argentinean now living in Colorado, from early age Ruben had wanted to compete in the Olympics. Never highly athletic, Ruben searched for a "minor" sport he could master as his ticket to the Olympics.  His research revealed the sport of luge, and Ruben has since raced in four Winter Olympics. He's often been injured and broken many bones, but he smiles and explains, "I just never quit!
