Truly a living legend, Otis Birdsong has a background marked by a series of amazing accomplishments: First University of Houston basketball player to score 1,000 career points. Southwest Conference record holder with an average of 30.3 points per game. Twelfth-best NCAA scorer in history with 2,832 points, ahead of such court immortals as Lew Alcindor (Kareem-Abdul Jabbar), David Robinson and Elgin Baylor, and just behind the great Larry Bird. Second player chosen in the NBA's 1977 college draft. Scored over 14,000 points during 12 seasons with the Kansas City Kings, New Jersey Nets and Boston Celtics. Named an NBA All-Star four times. Otis most recently served as the President and General Manager-Arkansas RimRockers of the NBA D-League.
