Matthew Glaetzer - Cycling |
Young Matthew is one of Australia's young, all around, cycling stars to keep your eye on. 2010 has proved why. He placed 2nd in the under 19 Sprint Australian Track Championships, 2nd in the 1000m Time Trial Australian Track Championships and 2nd again in the Keiran Australian Track Championships. Matthew knew he could do even better and never one to stop at second, displayed his true colours when competing at the Junior World Championships in Italy. This South Australian doubled up winning 2 gold medals in as many days. Having won the sprint category, Matt then rode a near perfect race to also grab the World Championship in the Keirin from Mauricio of Argentina and Matthew Baranoski of the Unites States. Matthew has whole heartedly proven he can mix it with the best and hopes to continue his form when he moves into the senior rankings shortly.
