Freddie Williams - Track & Field | Canada
He Goes the Distance. Freddie Williams a five-time Canadian 800-meter champion, former record holder and a two-time South African 800m national champion earned his Springbok colour in 1982 & 1983. Freddie immigrated to the U.S., where his magnificent skills as a runner earned NCAA All-American recognition 17 times! He later moved to Canada, where he served as captain of the Canadian Track Team at the 1992 Olympics, and now teaches math. Freddie has recently been named to the All-Time Century Team at Abilene Christian University where only 16 track and field athletes were selected. His overriding goal is to help young people learn that they can take control of their own health and win the often-daunting run for the distance called "life."
