Erica Broomfield - Track & Field | Canada

As a first-year York University student, Erica stunned fans at the 2007 CanAm Classic in Windsor.  She won the 60-meter dash gold medal with a time of 7.46 seconds, shattering a 24-year-old meet record. At the same competition, the five-foot-six speedster captured a second gold medal as a member of the 4x200-meter relay. Since then, Erica has continued to win at track meets in Canada and the United States. She also performed magnificently at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia, where she finished sixth in the 100-meter dash, running against many of the fastest athletes in the world. Her personal inspiration is the late Florence Griffith-Joyner, and she aspires to earn a place on Canada's World Championship team.
