Barbara Simmons - Equestrian | United States

Barbara Simmons excels in the Equestrian Sport of Combined Driving, which is most similar to 3-Day Eventing with carriages. It tests the versatility, ability, fitness and suppleness of horse and driver over three phases: Dressage, Obstacle Cones, and Cross-Country Marathon. Competitive levels go from training up to World Championships. After discovering the sport while living in England, Barbara returned to the United States, became involved in the sport, and ultimately bought her own horse and began competing. She has taken her horse up to the International level, reaching 4th place as a US driver on the International list of top singles drivers. She was also on the long list for the USA team for two years. She has trained and competed with a young horse, advancing up the levels with him. In 2008, she hitched both her horses Ace and Dexter together as a pair and has competed up to the 3rd level with them. During their career(s), Barb and her horses have won many first places and have placed well in competitions in many US states and in Canada.
