Priscilla Lopes-Schleip - Track & Field | Canada

Priscilla Lopes-Schleip

Priscilla Lopes-Schleip has already shown the world that she is ready to take on life's hurdles. She brought home a bronze medal in the women's 100-meter hurdles at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, which represented the first medal for Canada in the Summer Olympics since 1996. In fact, her prize was the first medal won by a Canadian woman in Olympic track and field competitions since the 1992 Games. A former hurdler for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, perhaps Priscilla's most admirable achievement was coming back to compete at the 2007 World Championships in Japan just two months after surgery. Medals and trophies aside, her dedication and courage show that Priscilla indeed has the heart of a champion.
