Matthew Levy - Swimming | Australia
Having been born 15 weeks premature, Matt Levy has survived 46 operations to get him to where he is today. He also has had to contend with vision impairment and cerebral palsy but it hasn’t stopped him from winning in the pool or in life. In 2003 he broke the 200m freestyle shortcourse world record and went on to win a veritable treasure trove of medals in various international competitions over the next few years. In 2008 Matt was selected to compete in his second Paralympics in Beijing where he won Gold as a member of the 4x100m Australian relay team. Matt’s next challenge comes in the form of the 2009 Australian Open and then the World Championships Short Course Trials in Brazil.
