Raising the Bar for Excellence. Pole vaulting is an athletic event that looks difficult, but in fact is even tougher than it looks. To succeed as a pole vaulter, a competitor must have strength, endurance, coordination, proper form and lightning reflexes. Jacob Pauli of Water Loo, Iowa has all of these qualities and more. Besides making the 2008 Olympic team, Jacob's many other achievements include a 19' 1/4" vault at the 2004 Olympic qualifying rounds, 2001 National NCAA Division 1 Championship and membership on eight NCAA All-American teams. What's ahead for Jacob? Well, one thing's for certain—he's bound to soar to new heights.
